The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has not been lined.
The painted surface has been recently cleaned, and given a light varnish. There are some localised patterns of craquelure visible upon very close inspection.The painted surface has some nice impastos. There are some indicators of some nice pentimenti visible upon close inspection.
Examination under UV shows a few scattered spots of retouching visible, predominantly to light surface scratches in the background and a small spot on the stem of the dandelion. Some past discoloured restorations showing in the background have been recently corrected during a light clean.
Overall the painting presents well, in a very good state of conservation, in a gilt composite period style frame.
