CHARLES NAPIER HEMY, R.A., R.W.S. (BRITISH, 1841-1917)
In 1873 Hemy exhibited a large view of Cheyne Walk, Chelsea at the Royal Academy, now in the collection of the Chelsea Arts Club, London. The subject was clearly something that preoccupied the artist at this date as the present work is set slightly further up river with Chelsea Old Church clearly visible.
