The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The board is in stable condition and is providing sound support. The varnish has bloomed slightly in the upper right corner. A few minor scuffs to the paint surface, mostly in the straw around the horse's legs.
Under UV light 3 areas of pigment fluoresce, to the left of the smith's legs, to his shirt and to an area of the horse's back. These appear to be unvarnished areas of later retouching.
