The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unlined and is what is probably the original stretcher which is providing good support.
Under UV light there is some retouching to the edges of the canvas, mainly in the lower left corner, and along the upper edges. There is infilling to craquelure concentrated in the upper right quadrant, and mainly to background areas. There are some further small scatterings of retouching to her cheeks, neck and nose, to the lower folds of her deress and to the lanterns behind her.
