The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher which is providing good support. There is some stretcher stressing at the upper, left edges. There are some areas of cracking to the sky, and to the background around the girl in the yellow dress. This is starting to lift a bit in the areas to the left and right of girl.

Under UV light there are some scattered spots of retouching to the lower left quadrant, and around the figures of the two seated children. There are some further spots of inpainting to possible old surface cracking in the right hand tree. There are a few probable spots of retouching in the sky. Some of the other pigments fluoresce under UV but these appear to be consistent with the artist's original paintwork.
