The paint layer is secure and stable showing a pattern of ageing craquelures predominantly in the sky.
Examination under UV light shows a few scattered cosmetic retouches in the sky. Remnants of old discoloured retouches are visible in a few localised areas in the buildings.
Overall the painting presents well in a simple wooden 17th Century style Dutch frame.
