Pin Mill is situated on the River Orwell, just six miles downstream from the port of Ipswich in Suffolk. As one of his favourite painting grounds, Seago painted Pin Mill on numerous occasions, exploring the scene at different states of the tide and with a variety of different boats on the river. He often sailed his yacht Capricorn down the East Anglian coast to paint there.
