Nadejda (or Nadezhda) was a Russian ballet dancer, probably with the Ballet Russes. Brockhurst made an etching from this drawing in 1924, of which a version is at the British Museum (1924,0219.4). Post Lot Text Artist's Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to this lot. You must pay us an extra amount equal to the resale royalty and we will pay the royalty to the appropriate authority. The sheet is not laid down but is hinged into a non-acidic mount. There are pinholes in all four corners (overmounted), and there is some slight surface dirt in places. There are a few scattered foxmarks, but the medium is fresh and strong and the sheet reads well.
