The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Oil on canvas.
The canvas has been lined.
The painted surface is covered in surface dirt and a slightly yellowed varnish.
The paint layer appears to be in good condition with a very soft horizontal stretcher mark along the top edge and three superficies grouped in the upper centre. Examination under UV light shows a few spots of scattered cosmetic inpaint in the sky and one area of infill and in paint in the upper right quadrant. A few spots of inpaint in the outer edges covering damages due to frame abrasions. Few other minor defects.
Overall the painting presents well in an ornate period style gilt frame.
