The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unlined and on its original stretcher, which is providing good support. There is some visible fine surface cracking in the sky, but the paint layer appears to be stable. Under UV light there are several fine lines of retouching to the sky and the edges, and a larger area in the lower left quarter, but these are relatively minor and not visible to the naked eye. The colours are slightly warmer than the catalogue image. It is presented in a grey painted frame, with a hessian slip.
