Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher which is providing good support. There is some minor paint shrinkage to the shadows to the left and upper right of the seated foxhound. There is some minor surface dirt and the picture might benefit from a light clean. There are some small areas of frame abrasion to the right and left hand edges. There is a layer of old varnish visible under UV light but no signs of damage or restoration. The picture is presented in a modern gilt painted frame with a small loss to the beading inside the outer border, lower left.
