The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher which is providing good support.
Under UV light there is retouching to and around frame abrasions along the right, left and upper edges. The area of grey wall between the legs of the clavichord appears to have been overpainted. There are some areas of retouching to the sky and other areas of the painted decorated panel of the instrument.
