The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher which is providing good support. There are some small areas of surface cracking predominantly to the sky and river.
UV light reveals some retouching to areas of surface cracking in the lower left corner and to both sides of the sky. There are some additional areas of retouching to the upper left corner, and upper edge. The picture appears to have been cleaned, and some areas of pigment fluoresce in the lower right coner that appear to be consistent with the artist's original paint work.
