The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Structural Condition
The canvas has been lined and this is ensuring an even and secure structural support. There are some very fine lines of entirely stable drying craquelure which are only visible upon the closest examination. The overall structural condition is very good.
Paint surface
The paint surface has an even if rather matt varnish layer and should benefit from surface cleaning and revarnishing if required.
Inspection under ultraviolet light shows only the most minimal tiny spots of retouching in the sky and water. It should be stressed that these are no more than flecks. There may be other retouchings that I could not identify under ultraviolet light.
Summary
The painting would therefore appear to be in very good and stable condition and while no further work is required for reasons of conservation the painting would undoubtedly respond well to cleaning and revarnishing if required.
