The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The painting has a wax relining. The varnish is discoloured and there is scuffing to the varnish on the edges due to the frame. There is no naked-eye damage to the surface of the painting. Under UV it is difficult to read the lower half of the painting because the varnish is uneven. There is scattered inpainting to the sky top left and top right addressing small areas of thin paint. There is possible inpainting to the right side of the girl’s red dress and the foliage behind the horse’s head.
The painting would benefit from being revarnished.
