Lot Essay

This scroll opens with the bismillah and the shahada followed by Persian verses in praise of God which refer to him as the as the Designer (naqshband). This is followed by verses in praise of and blessings for the Prophet. The genealogy starts with the Prophet and the Four Orthodox Caliphs, then Imams Hasan and Husayn. It ends with the names of Sufi shaykhs from Central Asian, including Mawlana Sharif Bukhari and Jalilullah Badakhshi.
