Mansour is well known as a calligrapher. His experience with three dimensional works began in 1999 when he presented his first outdoor work of carved letters executed in stone and mosaic, entitled ‘Amman’. This work, along with another Ahl al-‘Azm (The People of Resolution), now stand in the middle of Amman. This work, and that of lot 25, concentrate on the beauty of the word and what depth and symbolism its meaning may contain. For more information on the artist Nassar Mansour, please see lot 25 in the sale.
