The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This Qur'an is in stable condition overall. Consistent with age and use, there are minor creases to the text block. The text block has been trimmed causing very minor cropping to the outer parts of the illuminated bifolios and colophon as illustrated. There are areas of discolouration and faint staining from past water damage, mainly to the margins. The text block has minor restoration which are more notable towards the end of the manuscript, and the majority of the text panels have repairs to the rules. There are scattered, minor wormholes. The illumination remains strong overall, with some losses to the pigments mainly towards the end of the manuscript and to the colophon, and minor retouching to the opening illumination, which is slightly brighter in tone than the original, and several small holes. The opening shamsas have been remounted. The calligraphy remains in good, legible condition, however, there are very occasional small abrasions to the text panels that causes very minimal loss to the text. There are occasional loose folios.
The binding is stable with some light surface wear, consistent with age and use.
