Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Gouache, pastel, India ink and grattage on wove paper. The reverse of the sheet is hinged to the mount in two places at the upper reverse edge. Some pale discoloration at the extreme sheet edges, mainly visible on the reverse sheet. Some small creases at the lower corners. A short tear (approx. 0.5 cm.) towards the centre of the right edge. Some minute bubbles in the thicker gouache impasto mainly in the white pigment with one or two minute associated paint losses. The pigments are very strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally very good condition.
