Scène bucolique

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Sanguine and wash on paper. The reverse of the sheet is hinged to the mount in two places at the four reverse corners. The sheet undulates in places mainly at the sheet edges inherent to the artist’s medium. The four edges are deckled. A few nicks and a couple of tears at the centre of the left sheet edge (the longest approx.. 1.5 cm.). The pigments are very strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally very good condition.

Sanguine et lavis sur papier vélin. Le revers de la feuille est maintenu au montage à aux quatre coins. La feuille ondule par endroits principalement vers le bords de la feuille, inhérent au médium de l’artiste. Les quatre bords sont non-ébarbés. Quelques rares encoches et quelques déchirures au centre du bord gauche (la plus grande approx. 1.5 cm.). Les pigments sont très vifs et frais sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparaît en très bonne condition générale.
