Lot Essay

The present watch, PAM 300 is a long awaited re-edition of the Mare Nostrum. Made in the same specifications of the original Mare Nostrum, with the case and 52 mm size as the WWII original, the base of the movement is developed and produced by Minerva which Panerai dismantled, refinished and modified.
The Mare Nostrum was initially developed in 1943 for deck officers, the watch was introduced for public sale in 1993 and made in a smaller 42mm case, which was designed to be much more wearable. A watch that should be added to any serious Panerist collection.
