Lot Essay

The Panerai Radiomir Egiziano (PAM341), released in 2010, is a special edition variant of the historically important Radiomir Egiziano GPF 2/56 from 1956. First commissioned by the Egyptian Navy in 1956, the Radiomir Egiziano GPF 2/56 was Panerai's first attempt at a dive watch without the aid of Rolex, and only 60 pieces were produced. The timepiece was impossibly large for a watch in the '50s and still huge by today's standards; 60mm in diameter.
