The PAM389 is unusual and impressive due to its soft iron cage and dial design which allows it to be resistant to magnetic fields of up to 40,000 A/m. The present watch is the second of Panerai's antimagnetic watches, the first being the Arktos Amagetic PAM92 worn by explorer Mike Horn during his Artic expedition.
