First edition in book form of this Miss Marple mystery in a very good dust-jacket. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher: 'Carlo from Agatha Nov. 1957'. Hubin p. 79.

Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in black (minor spotting to endpapers and edges, top edge dust-stained, spine sunned); original dust-jacket supplied from another copy (spine ends frayed, foot of upper panel with small chipped loss, spine sunned, lower panel rather toned, slight wear along folds, small tape repair to head of spine on the reverse). Provenance: Charlotte 'Carlo' Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; presentation inscription by the author on front free endpaper, and with Fisher’s posthumous book label).
