WODEHOUSE, P. G. (1881-1975). The Clicking of Cuthbert. London: Herbert Jenkins, 1922.

A collection of golfing short stories: first edition in the rare dust-jacket. The first story introduces the Oldest Member, a recurring Wodehouse character, who narrates all but the last story. Character names, places, and famous golfers were later altered for American audiences in the 1924 US edition. The dust-jacket bears a comical illustration by C. Morse, which depicts a group of miniaturised men as clubs in a woman’s golf bag. McIlvaine, A27a.

Octavo. (Light browning to the endpapers, a few early pages nicked at fore-edge.) Original green cloth, lettered and stamped in dark green (faint wear at extremities); original pictorial dust-jacket priced 3/6 (light soiling and a few stains, a few small tears or chips, that to head of spine panel with tiny associated loss).
