First edition, signed by jazz legends Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. Signed and inscribed by Armstrong alongside his photograph ‘To Bob Smith, Louis Armstrong’, by Ellington above a double-page series of six portraits at the piano ‘To My Friend Bob Smith, good luck, Duke Ellington’, and twice signed by Miles Davis on a double-page spread of three photographs.

Jazz Street earned Stock first prize in the International Photography Competition for his behind-the-scenes images of Miles Davis, the Modern Jazz Quartet, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Lester Young and others, capturing ‘all there is to say of Louis Armstrong… the sardonic posture of Billie Holiday… [and] the face of Coleman Hawkins as he regards his saxophone… It is the look of a man about to do battle with an adversary – beloved, but still an adversary’.
