An excellent copy of the first edition of Ambler’s sixth novel, uncommon in such condition. It inspired the 1943 film adaptation of the same name co-written and produced by Orson Welles.

Octavo. Original blue cloth lettered in black to spine (lightly marked); original pictorial dust-jacket priced 8/3 on upper flap (lightly rubbed, a few minor nicks and short closed tears). Provenance: Mr & Mrs Smith, Kentville, Canada (label on front pastedown).
