WODEHOUSE, P. G. (1881-1975). My Man Jeeves. London: George Newnes, 1919.

The first Jeeves and Wooster book: first edition in a second-issue dust-jacket. My Man Jeeves is a collection of eight short stories, half of which concern Reggie Piper, an early prototype for Bertie Wooster. The other four stories all feature the character of Jeeves and were later revised in the 1925 short story collection Carry On, Jeeves. The dustjacket is from the July 1920 reissue and differs from that of the first only by its price and the list of other publications on the rear flap. McIlvaine A22a.

Octavo. (Slight browning throughout.) Original orange cloth, decorations to upper board in blind, spine lettered in black (extremities very faintly rubbed); original second issue pictorial dust-jacket (very light even browning, a couple of marks and tiny tears). Provenance: Frits Menschaar (no evidence of provenance).
