WODEHOUSE, P. G. (1881-1975). Right Ho, Jeeves. London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1934.

The second full-length Jeeves and Wooster novel: first edition in the original dust-jacket. ‘Jeeves and Bertie Wooster here show up at their barmiest and best. Not to put too fine a point on the matter, "Brinkley Manor" is an authentic triumph, in the master's best manner’ (The New York Times). Right Ho, Jeeves introduces several beloved characters to the series, notably Drone Club member Gussie Fink-Nottle, and reluctant on-and-off fiancé Madeline Bassett. The original dust-jacket features illustrations by Abbey, with whom Wodehouse would collaborate throughout the 1930s; his portrayal of large red faces and highly stylised costumes would establish the visual and marketable identity of the comic duo. McIlvaine A52a.

Octavo. (First and last leaves faintly spotted.) Original stone-grey cloth, covers and spine lettered and stamped in red, top edge stained red; original pictorial dust-jacket (short creases, some small nicks and tears to edges and spine ends).
