A SHE INKSTONE, A CICADA-SHAPED INKSTONE, AND A BRONZE INK BOX
(1) A SHE INKSTONE BY AOYAGI YASUO
Length 13.3 cm. (5 14 in.), width 11.1 cm. (4 38 in.), height, 2.7 cm. (1 18 in.)
Stone marking include ripple veins. Inscription by Chiang Chao-shen (1925-1996) is carved on the underside of the inkstone. With wooden cover, wooden stand, and Japanese wooden box.
Further inscribed and signed by Chiang Chao-shen on the wooden box lid, with two seals

NOTE:
The inkstone artisan is Aoyagi Yasuo, second-generation president of Tokyo's Houkendo. Founded in 1930, Houkendo specializes in calligraphy supplies, particularly renowned for its extensive inkstone collection—ranging from practical writing tools to collectible antique pieces. After the Second World War, Aoyagi Yasuo traveled to mainland China to establish cooperative networks with inkstone production regions, facilitating the import of high-quality inkstone materials to Japan. He also dedicated himself to mastering traditional Chinese inkstone craftsmanship techniques.

With wooden cover and wooden stand

(3) A BRONZE INK BOX
Diameter 12.3 cm. (4 78 in.), height 4.2 cm. (1 58 in.)
Inscriptions are carved on the both lid and underside of the ink box. With a box.
