TWO DUAN INKSTONES AND ONE SHE INKSTONE
(1) A “LOTUS AND CRAB” DUAN INKSTONE (QING DYNASTY)
Length 17.2 cm. (6 ³⁄₄ in.), width 15.8 cm. (6 ¹⁄₄ in.), height 2.7 cm. (1 ¹⁄₈ in.)
Stone marking includes mynah’s eye and raw skin. With wooden cover and wooden stand. Inscription by Chiang Chao-shen (1925-1996) is carved on wooden cover.

(2) A “CLOUD, SUN AND MOON” SHE INKSTONE
Length 13.8 cm. (5 ³⁄₈ in.), width 9.2 cm. (3. 5/8 in.), height 2.2 cm. ( ⁷⁄₈ in.)
Stone marking includes eyebrow pattern, golden flecks. Inscriptions by Chiang Chao-shen (1925-1996) are carved on both lip of the inkstone and the underside of the inkstone. With wooden cover, wooden stand and box. The wooden cover embellished with a jade pendant.

(3) A “HAN STYLE JI-SHAPE” DUAN INKSTONE BY AOYAGI YASUO
Length 18.1 cm. (7 ¹⁄₈ in.), width 11 cm. (4 ³⁄₈ in.), height 3.8 cm. (1 ¹⁄₂ in.)
Inscription by Chiang Chao-shen is carved on the underside of the inkstone. With wooden cover, wooden stand, and box.

NOTE:
The inkstone artisan is Aoyagi Yasuo, second-generation president of Tokyo's Houkendo. Founded in 1930, Houkendo specializes in calligraphy supplies, particularly renowned for its extensive inkstone collection—ranging from practical writing tools to collectible antique pieces. After the Second World War, Aoyagi Yasuo traveled to mainland China to establish cooperative networks with inkstone production regions, facilitating the import of high-quality inkstone materials to Japan. He also dedicated himself to mastering traditional Chinese inkstone craftsmanship techniques.
