The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There is a circular hairline crack around the neck with extending short vertical hairlines.
-There are cracks at the front below the spout extending to the body.
-There is a chip to the tip of the spout, and a few minute nicks to the tip of the end of the handle.
-There are nicks to the foot.
-"543" and "24.373" have been inscribed on the base.
Second:
Cover:
-There is a chip and a few minute nicks to the mouth rim.
-There are two areas of old glue on the mouth rim.
-There are a few minute frits on the relief decoration.
-"309" and "24.375" have been inscribed on the interior of the cover.
Box:
-There are a few chips to the rim of the collar.
-There are a few nicks to the mouth rim.
-There are remnant of old glue residue.
-There is a glaze burst bubble on the interior.
-"309" and "24.375" have been inscribed on the base.
Third:
-There are surface scratches
-There is residue of the old glue on the foot rim.
-"25.1461" and " 628" have been inscribed on the base
Forth:
Cover:
- There is glaze irregularity on the outside of the cover
- the Mouth rim have been buffed
- There is a chip to the collar
- "25.1475B" Has been inscribed on the interior.
Ewer:
-The mouth has been buffed
-There is a hairline crack to the stretcher
-There are a few minute nicks to the spout
-There are few nicks and a few firing cracks to the relief decoration
-There is residue of old glue to the foot rim
-"25.1495" and "224" have been inscribed on the base
