The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There is a minute frit to the mouth rim.
-There is a very small glaze gap to the shoulder.
-"00.1378" has been inscribed on the base.
Second:
-There are glaze gaps and abrasions to the rims of the raised section on the neck.
-There are a few minute frits to the lower section of the body above the foot.
-There is a chip and a few minute nicks as well as a short firing crack to the foot rim.
-"00.1373" has been inscribed on the base.
Third:
Cover:
-There are a few chips to the rim and collar.
-There is a perforated hole to the cover, most likely inherent to manufacture.
Ewer:
-There are a few chips to the mouth rim.
-There is a chip and a few minute nicks to the tip of the spout.
-There are losses to the glaze on the end of the handle.
-There is wear to the foot rim.
-There are pinprick holes to the base.
