The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There is wear to the mouth rim.
-There are glaze lines to the exterior.
-There are frits to where the upper gourd joins the lower gourd.
-There is a chip to the lower section.
-There are few frits to the area where the foot joins the body.
-There are a few chip to the foot rim.
-There are two firing cracks to the base.
-"64.628" has been inscribed on the base.
Second:
-There are scattered pinprick holes to the exterior.
-There is a small nick to the foot rim.
-"22.4433" has been inscribed on the base.
Third:
-There are some minor losses to the glaze, particularly to the handles.
-There is a circular firing crack around the edge on the base.
-"65.1118" has been inscribed on the base.
Fourth:
-There are expected nicks to the relief decoration.
-There are glaze lines.
-There are losses to the white glaze on the base.
-There are perforated holes to the base, most likely inherent to manufacture.
