KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There are several chips to the one end of the mouth rim, one of which has an associated hairline extending to the interior of the cup.
-There are surface wear and scratches.
-There is a short hairline crack to one arm of the chilong.
-There is residue of old glue to the foot rim.
-There is a faint star crack to the base
-"200" and "25.1029" have been inscribed on the base.

Second:
-There is wear to the mouth rim.
-There is a hairline crack extending from the mouth rim to the interior, with an associated area of restoration.
-There are two minor raised potting flaws to the interior well.
-There is a chip to the exterior.
-One side of the foot has been slightly buffed.
-"27.176" has been inscribed on the base.

Third:
-There are a few shallow chips to the mouth rim.
-There are a few nicks to the relief decoration.
-One petal of the flower is missing.
-There is a firing crack across the central medallion.
-There is a small nick to one foot.
-"1980.330" has been inscribed on the base.

Fourth:
-There is a chip and wear to the mouth rim.
-There are scattered frits to the enamels.
-There is a vertical area of restoration extending from the mouth rim to the lower section of the bowl.
-There are minute nicks and wear to the relief decoration.
-"391", "38.462", "748" and "K5B" have been inscribed on the base.
