The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in condition of the piece after its initial manufacture.
The wood scepter with white jade plaques is broken in two places at the top where the oval wooden frame is joined. All of the plaques exhibit minor wear to the surface and scattered nicks to the edges of the raised carving. The middle plaque has a vertical break down the right edge with associated cracks and repairs. There is also minor chips to the edges of the wood frames where the plaques are inserted. There are three small darker patches on the upper edge of the upper panel, which appear to be abrasion on the reverse side. The small wood end is pierced beneath the plaque with two holes bound by a copper wire. The second scepter is pierced with a small hole at the bottom end and has minor wear and abrasions to the surface of the wood shaft. There are minor nicks to the peach form stones applies on the shaft. The green jade ruyi head also has minor wear and nicks to the edges as well as scratches to the surface.
