A BLUE AND WHITE FIGURE OF SHOULAO
16TH-17TH CENTURY
The God of Longevity shown standing with his hands folded together and holding a book, his robe decorated with clouds in underglaze blue. Together with a blue and white jar, possibly Annamese, 15th century, and a blue and white bowl, 16th century.
Shoulao and jar: 6 and 3 ½ in. (15.2 and 8.9 cm.) high
Bowl: 4 ½ in. (11.4 cm.) diam.

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
