A BLUE AND WHITE JAR AND DISH
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The jar is decorated on the exterior in abstract scrolling vine and flowers. The dish is decorated on the interior with confronted stylized phoenixes below bands of loose scrollwork. The exterior is decorated with a celadon glaze, and is carved with stylized lotus petals radiating towards the molded foliate rim.
Jar: 8 ¼ in. (20.9 cm.) high
Dish: 9 ½ in. (24.1 cm.) diam.

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
