A CARVED COCONUT BOWL
19TH CENTURY
The exterior is formed of panels of coconut carved with writhing dragons on a cloud border within quatrefoil panels separated by flaming pearls. The pewter foot is carved with bajixiang, the Eight Buddhist Emblems, and decorated with a character on the base.
7 ½ in. (19.1 cm.) diam.

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
