A DOUCAI 'DRAGON AND FISH' DISH AND A BLUE AND WHITE BOTTLE VASE
KANGXI-YONGZHENG PERIOD (1662-1735)
The interior of the dish is decorated with a five-clawed dragon amidst clouds encircled by four fish borne on crashing waves. The exterior is decorated with a band of waves and the base is decorated with an apocryphal Chenghua mark. The vase is decorated on the exterior with peaches below diaper-pattern and lappet bands.
Dish: 6 5/16 in. (16 cm.) diam.
Vase: 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
