A LONGQUAN CELADON BOWL AND AN AMBER-GLAZED PHOENIX-FORM ROOF TILE
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The bowl is molded on the interior with seated figures below a key-fret border, and further molded with a key-fret border on the exterior. The semi-circular tile is mounted with a well-modeled long-tailed phoenix, and covered overall in a rich honey-amber glaze.
Bowl: 6 ¾ in. (17.3 cm.) diam.
Tile: 8 3/8 in. (21.4 cm.) high

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
