A LONGQUAN CELADON VASE AND A CIZHOU-PAINTED FIGURE OF BUDAI
16TH-17TH CENTURY
The vase is carved on the exterior with flowering foliage overall between various decorative borders. Budai is shown seated with one knee raised and holding a string of jewels, and decorated in brown, red, green and blue over a cream-colored slip.
8 1/8 and 4 ¾ in. (20.6 and 12.1 cm.) high

Provenance
The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
