A PAIR OF WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' DISHES
TONGZHI SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1862-1874)
The dishes are decorated in the center with a medallion encircling a five-clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl and surrounded by a pair of five-clawed dragons and a pair of phoenixes beneath a ruyi-band interspersed with The Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang.
7 7/16 in. (18.9 cm.) diam.

The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-1970s, in the United States before 1990.
