The present vase is notable for the use of gilding, which is unusually generous compared to some published examples, and for the elegant spacing of the roundels. Two other vases with similarly extensive gilding have been published: one from the Nanjing Museum is illustrated in Treasures in the Royalty. The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 482; the other is illustrated by G. Avitabile, Vom Schatz der Drachen. Chinese Porcelain from the 19th and 20th centuries in the Weishaupt Collection, London p. 90-91, no. 127.
