Details
The ewer has a tall, ribbed neck rising to a wide, everted rim, and an upright slightly curved and faceted spout opposite the strap handle, and is covered overall with a white slip under a clear glaze that ends irregularly above the splayed foot to expose the pale grey ware.

A nearly identical ewer, also with an angled, faceted spout and a narrow strap handle, formerly in the Yokogawa Tamisuke Collection and now in the collection of the Tokyo National Museum, is illustrated in Masterpieces of Chinese Ceramics from the Yokogawa Tamisuke Collection, Tokyo, 2012, no. 28.
