The canvas has been relined. Frame abrasion along the extreme edges with some associated scattered areas of pinpoint loss along the lower edge. There is a network of fine unobtrusive craquelure throughout. Minor surface soiling throughout. Vertical and horizontal stretcher marks. Examined under UV light the canvas presents with a milky green varnish. Scattered craquelure fill. Scattered short strokes of inpainting, including to the water and the waves of the foreground. There is a small repaired tear to the sky to the left of the American flag and a small area of inpainting to the sky below the repaired tear. A small area of inpainting to the sky in the upper right quadrant. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
