    Each finely painted with central roundel containing a pair of frisky Buddhist lions, surrounded by petal-shaped panels of mythical beasts alternating baskets of flowers, all reserved on a flower and insect-strewn green ground, a trellis pattern on the rim with cartouches of butterflies, flowering plants and serpents, the reverse rims with flowering branches

    The Tibor Collection was formed over decades, growing to encompass every category of Chinese export porcelain, from small, charming teawares to massive pairs of important jars. The collector had a deep appreciation for the magnificent porcelains made for New Spain as well as for the lifelike charm and elegance of Chinese porcelain figure and animal models.
