domed base, with presentation inscription from Chinese merchants at Kobe within a cartouche "As a mark of their esteem and gratitude for the invariable kindness and consideration they have received from him," the other cartouche with Chinese characters, with figural floral stem, the bowl chased with village scene, cover with fish and shells and surmounted by crane finial amongst bamboo branches, marked to underside
