The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
All:
-may have a few burst bubbles, iron spot, firing cracks which are original to manufacture
- Expected light wear and minor scratches
Snuff bottle: - no spoon nor stopper
- the surface is slightly worn with some light abrasion
- a nick to foot rim and a tiny knock above foot
brown bottle vase :
- a few short firing cracks to base
- in overall good condition
another brown bottle vase:
- a few fine firing cracks or glaze lines to the interior
- a few tiny chips, nicks and short firing cracks and possibly a few fine hairlines to foot/base
power blue vase:
- a few short scratches to mouth, a few of which might be hairlines but it’s very difficult to tell
- two fine firing cracks or hairline to base
white bottle vase with splayed foot:
- a tiny knock to mouth
- a fine firing crack to foot, wo short hairlines approx. 0.5 cm. extend upward from foot
white bottle vase with anhua decoration (danping):
- network of glaze lines overall, short firing cracks to base, otherwise appears to be in overall good condition
teadust vase:
- two tiny nicks to mouth, and a bump original to manufacture to the body
purple Sevres vase:
- a restuch chip and other chips to mouth, a few tiny chips to foot
beige glaze (with crackles) meiping:
- a few chips and nicks to foot
blue bottle vase (biqiping):
- a chip and two nicks to mouth
turquoise glaze vase:
- a chip to mouth
- irregularity to glaze near foot
light brown glaze vase:
- appears to be in overall good condition except a short firing crack to mouth and a few negligible nicks to foot
white gu-form vase:
- appears to be in overall good condition
iron rust bottle vase:
- a few small shallow chips to foot
- a bump original to manufacture to the body
- a few short lines at the mouth fluoresces under UV inspection but it is difficult to discern whether these are hairlines
persimmon glazed bottle vase:
- a large shallow chip to mouth; chips and nicks to foot
light blue jar and cover:
- a knock with associated star crack to the body
- some kiln grit to foot
- cover has been broken and repaired with associated filled area
pink marble vase:
- appears to be in overall good condition with some minor irregularities original to manufacture
coper red bottle vase:
- fritting and chipping and a firing crack to mouth rim
- appeared to be misfired in some areas
brown jar:
- a few chips to foot
- a chip original to manufacture and a firing crack to edge above foot
