The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Figure:
- scattered areas of overpainting to head, proper right hand, torso and clothes
- loss of a few fingers and repaired breaks to the rest of the proper right hand
- expected chips and nicks to edges and extremities, and loss to pigments
- loss of stucco at the back exposing some of the core
Head:
- appears to be in overall good condition
- the head is affixed to the stand
- possible small old chip to proper left earlobe
- expected minor firing cracks and unglazed areas
